Summary of Activities
The Arts Festival is a fiesta embracing an array of arts in their collective splendour.
Its mission is to bring the arts closer to the general public and to document the rich artistic creation that draws from the specificities of a small island state like
Seychelles
and reach out into the wider world of innovative competition.
The arts festival adds value to the quality of the cultural life of the nation and region.
The Seychelles 1st Arts festival was held from the 5th to
the 9th April 2003
and had as theme “Arts for peace”.
Such was its success that the festival has now become an annual event of the National Arts Council calendar.
The 2nd edition of the arts festival will be held from 28th April to
1st May 2004
This year’s edition will once more display a myriad of activities to suit all artistic needs.
The programme, rich in diversity, consists of music, dance, workshops, cuisine, fashion, visual arts, graphic arts, drama, and literature, culminating with the grand “night with the winners” to be held after the festival.
